Create an Ontello Account
Register Your ONT ID
Create your decentralized identity. Your ONT ID will serve as your initial display name — this is how you’ll appear to others in the app. You can change your display name at any time, but your ONT ID cannot be modified.

Using Passkey to Create Your Wallet
Ontello uses Passkey as the foundation of its self-custodial wallet system — it’s how your wallet is created, owned, and secured.
Instead of generating a seed phrase or manually managing a private key, you simply create a passkey on your device. The passkey securely generates and controls your on-chain wallet.
What is a Passkey?
A Passkey is a cryptographic credential built on the FIDO2 / WebAuthn standard.
When you create one, your device’s secure enclave (e.g., Apple Secure Enclave, Android Keystore, or TPM) generates a public–private key pair:
The private key never leaves your device — it’s stored in the system’s secure chip and protected by biometrics or a device passcode.
The public key is shared with Ontello and registered on-chain as your wallet owner.
Unlike Seed Phrases, Passkeys:
Cannot be phished, leaked, or exported.
Sync automatically via iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager.
Are recoverable through your device account or recover phrase.
